  • Sound quality The sound from these buds are definitely better than the old iPod earbuds but I'm not too picky on sound. good
  • Design and form factor I love the unique look of the EarPod! good
  • Comfort These are the most comfortable buds I've ever worn. I wore them for 12+ hours on flight and my ears didn't ache at all! great!
  • Noise isolation I can hear the music fine but expect to stil hear the ambient sound of the jet engines on a 747. so-so
  • Durability So far so good! good
Detailed review
I fell in love with these earbuds the moment I put them on. These buds are so comfortable! Yes, I understand that the sound is ok and that they're not better than the pair of Ultimate Ears in terms of sound but they are so freaking comfortable. I sat through a 13 hour plane ride a couple days ago and had the EarPods on the whole time. By the time the trip ended and had the Pods off, my ears felt as if nothing has been in there.

Because of the great comfort alone, I'm going to have to give the EarPod a 9/10. I can forgive the EarPod when it comes to sound quality simply because I don't think these were made to compete with the higher end earphones out on the market.

If you want super comfortable earphones, the EarPod will serve you well.

I was surprised to read you thought they were so comfortable, as they are hard plastic after all. When I got mine, I tried putting them in my ears like I do all my previous in-ear headphones and it was painful, I then figured out they just kind of sit on the outside of your ear canal, almost feeling like they could fall out really, different than the rubbery ones I'm used to which you basically shove in as far as they'll go.

I was surprised myself that they were so comfortable when most people either find them indifferent or uncomfortable. I don't shove them in my ear like in earphones though, maybe that's the key? When I let them rest in my ear canal, they don't feel like they're about to fall out either.
