Microsoft reveals the next generation of Xbox -- meet the Xbox One

In addition to great games and multimedia features, the new Xbox is designed to fully integrate with your home theater with features like instant switching and group Skype. It also brings with it a new HD Kinect sensor and a new wireless controller. Other announcements include live NFL game streaming, a Halo TV show, and a new Call of Duty game -- are you excited yet?

    Big is beautiful

Large phones don't need to have "Note" in the name -- just ask the Optimus G Pro

Samsung's Galaxy Note II may dominate the "phablet" market, but that doesn't mean it's the only option if you want a giant smartphone. LG's Optimus G Pro 5.5 boasts a super-sharp 1080p display, a 13-megapixel camera, and great battery life. While it lacks the Note II's stylus, it's still a solid choice if you can find room for it in your pocket or bag.

    The Mark of Zoro

Noontec's new headphones slash heavy bass and high build quality to offer good sound at a good price

At a glance the Noontec Zoro could be mistaken for a pair of Beats headphones, but give them a listen and you'll find they offer a more neutral sound compared to the Beats' bass-heavy profile. The build quality isn't as refined, but you're also not going to be paying Beats prices, making these a decent deal for a stylish pair of headphones.

    Band it

The Fitbit Flex is easy to track with and hard to lose

If you're tired of your clip-style Fitbit devices wandering away, then the Fitbit Flex may the fitness tracker you've been waiting for. The clasp system keeps it securely on your wrist, the band is water-resistant, and it still tracks your steps and sleep pretty well -- though not without accuracy problems.

    Positive energy

The Aura HD will turn heads, but may not win converts

Kobo's new e-reader has a sharp, high-contrast screen with incredibly high pixel density, and the battery life is absolutely fantastic. What it does not have are the massive retail presence and user base of Amazon or Barnes and Noble, making this a very hard sell for bookworms already invested in large Kindle or Nook libraries.

    Incremental

The Galaxy S4 is an evolutionary -- not revolutionary -- upgrade

If you've seen the Galaxy S III, then the S4 should look familiar, though it does pack a larger, higher-resolution display. On the inside though, it boasts a faster processor, better camera and battery, and touch-free capabilities -- you can hover your finger above the screen, keeping it clean from your greasy mitts. However, while it's a great phone, it fails to top our current favorite, the HTC One.

    futile

The Asus Cube may be the best Google TV box yet -- but you still shouldn't buy it

If you want to bring the Android experience to your TV, or just want to check out where Google's set-top platform is going, the Cube is your best bet. If you just want to effortlessly stream videos, get one of the latest boxes from Apple or Roku instead.

    fade in

    V-moda's Crossfade M-100s are comfortable, great-sounding headphones

With solid bass and a comfortable fit, V-Moda's on-ear M-100 offers what one critic calls "extraordinary" sound. But its unique industrial design -- and $300 price tag -- may not be for everyone.

  • I want my new TV

TVs you'll want to buy, and one you should avoid

HDTVs announced at this year's CES are beginning to hit store shelves, which means plenty of new features to check out. It also means last year's models are going down in price, so it's a great time to buy if you're looking for a bargain. Which set should hold a place of honor in your living room? And which TV should you pass on (for now)?

    not so cool

Nikon's Coolpix A is a high-end compact with too many low points

If you're going to spend over $1,000 for a compact camera, you should expect class-leading performance. Unfortunately, with the Nikon Coolpix A -- which uses the same kind of image sensor typically found in DSLRs -- that's not what you get.
