They keyboard will obviously work without the drivers provided on the CD, but it's worth getting the newest version you can from their website. This allows to predefine keys, which is very useful (like switching off the 'windows' key). Read more »

HTC Magic: SIM Card Full - message won't go away

I have had the myTouch for about 7 months and I just started getting this message: SIM card full Delete some messages to make room for It is vibrating my phone all the time it is so obnoxious. When I go to 'manage SIM card messages' it just says refreshing and the screen stays blank white meaning that I can't do anything about those messages. From what I gather in forums, this has to do with messages directly from TMobile. I have deleted every SMS thread that I have. I made... Read more »

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch unibody

Apple modestly tweaks the 13" Unibody but adds the Pro. Changes from the unibody MacBook (sans-pro) are generally welcome. The price was lowered by $100, a backlit keyboard, and Firewire 800 were added among other features. The non-removable battery performance is rated for 7 hours of screensaver watching, but seems to get 3-5 hours with normal use. The SD port addition is convenient, though several years behind OEM additions of multi-card readers. A new screen has improved brightness... Read more »

I bought a Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP in January 2009, and have since gone through four. I am in desperate need of a good quality monitor, but I keep on having issues with the Dell ones. Issues with Monitors are as follows: #1: Was very very hot. #2: Was even hotter than #1. #3: There were ghosting effects when viewing fast moving, dark images. #4: Same as #3. Anyone have similar issues? Read more »

Microsoft Windows 7: Dropbox in Windows 7

Earlier today, I decided to upgrade my Dropbox account and move my entire home directory into it so I had a real time back up of all my files and folders. I simply went into my home directory and cut (not copied) all of my folders out of it and pasted them into the Dropbox folder I had in my drives root directory, but when I went back to my home directory to check that I hadn't missed anything, I saw that some of the folders hadn't moved. These were "My Music", "My... Read more »

HTC Google Nexus One: I wanted to get a Nexus... (the Google fiasco)_ a rant.

This weekend i wanted to get a Nexus One. I'm currently a very satisfied Tmobile customer (the only one?), 17 months in a 2-yr contract on a family plan. So i checked the tmobile website to see if i was eligible for a handset upgrade. it turns out that i can get any phone for the same price a new customer would get. Great! I went to the Nexus page to buy the phone subsidized (with new 2-yr contract) in turns out: 1. I can't get the phone because i'm on a family plan. WTF? 2.... Read more »

Canon EOS 550D

The Rebel T2i Digital SLR camera includes a variety of new features for photographic assignments as varied as grabbing that action shot from the sidelines or creating memorable family portraits, including: 3.7 fps shooting, an ISO range of 100-6400 (expandable to 12,800), a 63-zone Dual Layer Metering System, and Canon's DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor. BenQ QCM-330: Ridiculous display!

So the thing I'm most intrigued about with this phone is its display. It's a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 1024. Holy awesome pixel density! I would *love* to see Android running on this and how smooth it would look. Read more »

Canon PowerShot S90: Using the S90 with Aperture

I have been using Aperture to manage my RAW files from my Nikon D80 for about a year now. I bought the S90 and realized that Aperture does not support its RAW files (but oddly enough it does support the G11). Has anyone ran into this problem? Have you found an elegant solution? How do you handle the barrel distortion? Read more »

Motorola DROID: More Home Screens!

My girlfriend is afraid of rooting her Droid and at this point I've learned not to push her. But I wanted to offer her an alternative the Droid's limited number of home screens. Would you guys mind listing some home screen replacement APPS (NOT roms) that offer more home screens (I tried a market search but many of the developers neglected to mention this feature before downloading). Which one is the best? Which one will help her minimize her Nexus One envy (yes, I heard about the... Read more »

Barnes & Noble nook: Should I wait... And what does the Nook come with?

I'm currently leaning toward the Nook over Amazon's Kindle, because I don't like the buttons on the front of the Kindle. But is this technology about to be superseded? Amazon just bought a touch screen company; e-ink is moving forward; many people think lcd tablets are good for reading. I don't want to buy this just before the price drops 50-100 dollars. I did that with the Wii. Also, what does this come with? Does it have some kind of cover, or do I have to buy... Read more »
