Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch unibody
Carved from a single block of aluminium, the MacBook Pro is a true engineering achievement. Its unibody enclosure is the product of precise machining. From the thumbscoop to the now-you-see-it-now-you-don’t sleep indicator light, no detail is unaccounted for. The end result is a notebook that’s not only breakthrough, but thin, light, polished and refined. The unibody also makes MacBook Pro more durable than ever. So you can throw it in your briefcase or messenger bag and pull it out at an... Read more »

Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch: Heat Dissapation
Ok fellow owners, we know this thing gets HOT, especially on the left side with gaming and heavy web usage. Aside from your standard cooling pads, or stingy power settings, what ideas can we come up with that will help chill this beast? My ideas: 1. carve fins into the unibody 2. drill a couple of holes somewhere (the side? bottom?) to improve airflow 3. get a heatsink manufacturer to create a USB attachment/hub (stupid 2 USB limit...) that uses heatpipes or something to suck heat... Apple iPhone 3GS: Play itunes music through car speakers via bluetooth?
My friends car has a built in hands free system that allows her to sync with the Iphone and receive her calls using the speakers in her car via bluetooth. It works flawlessly. It even has a phone book that automatically synced with her iphone and now all of her contacts are also listed in the cars nav system as well. However, there is no way that I have found to play itunes music on her iphone, using the bluetooth connection, through her cars speakers. Does anyone know if this is even possible? Read more »

Microsoft Xbox 360: What 360 game in your mind was "the one"?
By "the one", I mean the game that the first time you played it was the one that got you hooked on that genre or the franchise you became loyal to from then on. For me, it was Halo and the whole FPS experience. Like others, it was amazing and the story was great. Halo 2 came and it continued that path but the online play just blew me away. I played over 3,000 online games over about a year. So, which game brought you in? Read more »

HP Mini 1000 10-inch: What OS are you running?
Just thought it would be interesting to see what Os everyone is running on their Mini. One of the eighty million distros of Linux, Win 7, XP, Vista or OS X? I've got the Windows 7 RC loaded right now and it's running fantastic. I might install the final product, although considering the OS costs almost as much as the computer itself, I might just end up switching back to UNR. Read more »

LG enV Touch VX11000: apps
I just got this phone last night to replace my enV 2 which broke... I know on the ads it mentions twitter when it talks about apps, but I have yet to find a twitter app for any verizon phones. When talking with a sales rep at the store, he couldn't name any but was sure there was one. Anyway.... I was hoping someone could solve this for me and also share their recommendations for apps. Palm Pre: Any REAL iPhone --> Pre users?
I've been reading some of the discussions here and many of them seem like petty, snickering children with comments like, "Yeah, I had the iPhone, hated it. The Pre is the SECOND COMING OF JESUS HIMSELF!" The wording doesn't feel right. It's not like the iPhone is the axis of evil or anything, it just sounds like fanboy bashing. I'm wondering if any real iPhone users out there switched, and what their feelings are on it from an iPhone perspective. Thanks a bunch. Read more »

Editorial: Taking the iPhone 3GS off the job market
The other day, whilst sitting in the waiting room of a doctor's office, awaiting the inevitable bad news to come down the pipeline (you're dead, you're dying, no that rash can't be treated), I attempted to do something daring with my iPhone 3GS. I attempted to work. I say attempted, because what dawned on me -- separated from my laptop, a netbook, or any viable computing system -- was that I couldn't really get much of my work done on Apple's bundle... HTC Touch 1st-gen: Upgrade to WM6.5 and enjoy
This device mediocre with the stock ROM they ship with--the real magic lies in the community. First, update your device to the latest ROM through HTC's site. Under support, they carry the ROMs for the different carriers. The ROMs will update the various firmwares in the device (yes, firmwares) for the radio, the GPS, the device itself, etc. Not only can this improve signal reception, it can also sometimes enable factory-disabled functionality. For example, the Touch ships with A-GPS... Read more »

Will Google OS be able to do what Linux hasn't?
I'm excited about Google entering in the OS game, but I'm feeling that like Android, Google may have a hard time getting a lot of excitement from non geek community. http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/08/google-announces-chrome-os/ Read more »
