Though it might not satisfy the large set of people clamouring on AVSForums or the WD forums, requesting new features and demanding fixes, it does appear to make for an ideal gift for the non-tech savvy friends and relatives in the upcoming holiday season.

With its 1TB hard drive and ability to play nearly any audio or video file, the Western Digital WD TV Live Hub is a great set-top box for organizing and browsing local and online media.

While it lacks integrated Wi-Fi and is more expensive than the Roku or Apple TV , the WD TV Live Hub's combination of snazzy interface and built-in 1TB hard drive will appeal to advanced users who have a lot of existing files they want to view on an HDTV or stream to other PCs on a network.

If you are looking for a network media player and/or a network media server, this should be at the top of your list. The WD TV Live Hub does a great job of both accessing your network media and acting as a central storage location from which you can stream media to other computers or media players...

WD has a great device here--now it needs to fix the installation problems. This should be a wireless unit, like Apple and Roku, and not require folks to go out and buy WiFi dongles.
