my pc says its not recognized as a usb 2.0 device or something like that and i have tried it on other pc's and its the same thing. I don't know if its damaged physically or if there is something wrong with the drivers or what....I need my data and I need it fast....HELP!!!!!

It's tiny and it's inexpensive, but the connection is insanely loose on my 15- and 17" MBPs.
It's constantly pulling loose and ejecting accidentally. I've now owned two and both suffer from the same problem. I'll never own a third.

Depending on which version you get, it may have a hard drive with the USB port integrated directly on the board of the harddrive.
It's not like a USB board with a SATA connection to the hard drive. There is no SATA port.

Do not buy if you want your sanity intact.
Man i have been pulling my hair lately trying to remove all this crap that is embeded in the firmware in these new WD drives. Here is whats causing all these problems; 1.Virtual drive. WD provides a new firmware upgrade and software to hide the virtual drive that it saw fit to put in my hard drive without my permission.But thats it it just hides it and you need to install some software from them. 2.Windows 7 does not find WD SES USB device drives. I thought this was a simple mass storage device...
