it says it backs up files and then if you go to put it on a new computer or a formatted one it doesnt register the original back up files. happened to me and happened to somone else i know. besides that it is very slow and performs awfully. the harddrive itself has slow transfer speeds due to its portability being so great. so i guess thats a trade off. i formatted the drive now and just drag and drop stuff in there.

I bought my computer 5 years ago and at the time I thought 160GB (custom made Windows XP) would be more than necessary, as my iTunes library grew and as I…
started audio/video & podcast production hard drive space came at a premium especially since I bought a Samsung HMX H106 HD camera, this became a life saver, especially the storage demand of media. So I don't understand the bad reviews!!! And now that I'm using both a Mac & a PC, this is even more valuable!!! I especially love the face I don't need a power cable!!!

I like it. I have the 1tb; and it works well. Installed the "ware" at home. Could not at work, but did not have to.
It allowed me to just copy and save. Fairly easy to use. I read reviews where people were having issues with the usb coming out at random. I did not. As a matter of fact it was not loose at all. Quiet, and fast. Just like it like it.
