I just wanted to find out if anyone else has experienced failed transfers when trying to move LARGE amounts of data to the WD MyBookWorld. In the past, if I tried to transfer even 5GB of data to the WD, the drive and the transfer would completely freeze up and require a hard reboot of the drive. The WD Mybook world edition is a NAS about as hackable as the venerable NSLU2 and the WRT54G. I've heard some good things but I also heard that it is slow and the web interface is pretty crap. For someone who wants music/video/rom sharing on a LAN, occasional SSH and maybe some remote SFTP access, is this worth it? is there something better?
