Conclusion: We're mixed

The VelociRaptor Duo is an expensive drive that may be worth its price if you need a high-speed RAID solution for a Thunderbolt-equipped Mac. The Duo's two 1TB drives spin at a fast 10,000 RPM, are pre-formatted for a Mac and pre-configured for RAID Level 0, and provide faster write speeds than solid-state drives.

In the case of the My Book VelociRaptor Duo, you get better performance than any other two-HDD Thunderbolt enclosure. The problem is it comes at a hefty price. With a cost per GB higher than most other Thunderbolt solutions, you have to really want the performance to make the VR Duo worthwhile.
