Like the Polk Audio SurroundBar 6000, the Vizio VHT215 improves on the basic soundbar model with a wireless subwoofer, making it easy to add room-filling virtual surround sound to any HDTV — and the Vizio does it for about $150 less. The VHT215 has loads of useful features, including multiple remote-accessible audio-processing modes and a wide range of inputs, including two HDMI ports, optical audio, and 3.5 mm. The VHT215 may not be a substitute for a full surround-sound system, but it's a lot easier to set up — and a lot more affordable.

So you get a richly featured surround bar with wireless subwoofer for a retail price of $320 and a street price much lower. Is this the perfect addition to that flat panel TV? It just might be.

The Vizio VHT215 2.1-channel soundbar delivers good sound that's a significant step up from the feeble audio coming out of the compromised built-in speakers employed in most modern ultra-thin TVs.
