I've got a Roku, a few Apple TVs (some jailbroken, some not) and a Logitech Revue as well. I keep the Apple TVs in the kids rooms so they can watch Netflix easily and use the Revue on the main TV since I think it works the best out of all of them.
I pre-ordered the co-star some time back and it arrived yesterday as well. I really thought the co-star was going to be the next step up from everything I think is great about the Revue, I
spent some time with it last night and am sad to say that it really is
pretty useless.
I may be in the minority, but it would not even pass the video signal from my cablebox (Comcast/Scientific Atlanta) even after an hour long call with Vizio support. While they seem very knowledgeable and were generally a pleasure to receive support from, their final suggestion was that I needed to update the firmware in my cablebox which I don't expect to happen anytime soon. I suspect this pretty common cablebox lives in a lot of living rooms.
Anyway, I pushed on and decided I could at least use the co-star as a second input device to stream content and use apps from. The remote seemed nice enough, although the guy below that described it as designed by 80s BMW engineers was spot on. But the remote is as bad as everyone else describes; lagging keystrokes and unresponsive touchpad 'clicks' along with the awkward HOLD requirement of the function key to type basic symbols and numbers made it a nuisance to even play with. The UI was pretty sluggish by any measure as well and left VERY little options as var as customizing the co-star's settings. One of the things that was great about hte Revue for example was the ability to choose your own default app to run at startup (vs the live TV app)
So, I finally gave up and found some app in the Play Store that would stream my friends facebook pictures in a Polaroid screensaver sort way that I may or may not ever watch, but thats probably all this little box will ever end up doing.
As much as I hate to say it, I would pass on this and hope someone else is cooking up a better GTV device
