I’d heard enough people complain in game about the older Turtle Beach headsets cutting out, various forms of interference and static, and poor chat quality. I think that Turtle Beach may have been listening, because I’ve experienced none of those issues with these.

Turtle Beach may not be the foremost name in gaming headsets, but they make a good case for the title with the XP400. Wired thought it sounded "great" while Destructoid called its default setting "even, clear and deep." Both sites also found the headset to be extremely comfortable, though Huffington Post UK found them "a little too large for my head." Despite that, they feel that "the XP 400 headset will do your ears right."

This is a Ferrari for gamers - with all the absurdity that entails. So if you're prepared to pay the price, go nuts. You won't find a better product for your strange, twisted needs than this.
Read the full review →You're certainly getting what you pay for. If you don't mind working through the initial setup, and you're okay with learning some light blink and audible beep sequences for settings, the XP 400 headset will do your ears right. Recommended.
Read the full review →Despite its niggles, the XP400 is an excellent gaming headset. It’s obviously tough not to compare it with offerings from rival Astro. Having used both, I’ve noticed that there are things one does better than the other and vice-versa so everything boils down to which features you prize more.
Read the full review →For transparency, I work with Turtle Beach. But I'm so grateful for this product as it keeps my bf online late into the night without disturbing me at all. He rarely needs to charge it up, and I've found him asleep in them if that's any testament to comfort.
