An attractive and capable camcorder for everyday use, we liked the turn it on and start shooting idea behind the Camileo X100, plus the ability to take still shots while continuing to shoot video. It's not the most robust camcorder we've tried however.

The Camileo X100 never convincingly locks onto your subject to deliver the kind of sharp, detailed images found on the other camcorders, especially at the far end of its 10x zoom range. ... The Camileo X100’s price point ultimately comes at too high a cost.

With a street price of $250 you really can’t go too wrong with the Toshiba. It is capable of nice enough video, has expandable storage, and is easy to use.

On its own, the X100 is a mixed bag: the video quality isn't on par with higher-end 1080p models and the lens is a bit too slow in the focusing department. On the plus side, it's outfitted with a good feature set for the price and a simple-to-use design.
