This lens is well balanced on a D7000 with and without the grip and is oh so wide and fun to use. Autofocus is fast and accurate (but there's a lot of leeway with depth of field at wide focal lengths), but it is dependent on the body as this lens is screw-driven and lacks an internal AF motor....

I have been lucky enough to borrow this lens from a friend on several occasions and cant praise it enough. Its one of those must have lenses and when fitted on my D200 produced outstanding result. I'm saving for my own and continually annoying my friend to borrow his.
