It isn't everything we want in a remote control, and isn't perfect, but if you've always found keying in searches on your TiVo tedious and have $89 laying around, you have yourself a new gadget.

It’s just the classic TiVo peanut remote shrunk down a bit with a sliding QWERTY keyboard added. But how is it in practice? Pretty much the best thing on Earth.

If you regularly use TiVo as a search tool to find new stuff to watch, the investment makes sense. For the rest of us, the tried-and-true bundled TiVo remote works, and, well, it won't cost you a dime.

There is quite a big of lag when it uses the Bluetooth. It also has trouble when typing where it will register multiple presses.

The TiVo Slide remote is a good enough, although overpriced, remote. The QWERTY keyboard is convenient and much preferable to the usual, awkward, character-by-character text entry process using arrow buttons.
