Combining the best of the legendary simple-to-use TiVo interface with dual CableCARD readers and an affordable price (finally!), the new TiVo HD delivers the promise that the TiVo Series 3 HD made.

This inexpensive TiVo records high-definition programming--even ones on scrambled channels, thanks to its two CableCard slots.

Now that it's up and running, I can't think of a single reason to ever plug in that Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD again. (Oh yeah, the TiVo's a loaner.) The great news: To reach the low-low-price of $300, TiVo only cuts the corners we'd cut ourselves. It is functionally a Series 3, minus the...

While it's not compatible with your cable company's interactive and video-on-demand services, the TiVo HD's excellent onscreen interface and long list of network and Internet features puts it in a class above the generic high-def DVRs offered by most cable providers.

I've been using the TiVo since the dual tuner Series 2, and I've always been a fan. The remote is a delight to use - the buttons are exactly where you think they'd be and it's really easy to hold. The software never crashes and the menus are easy to navigate. Sure, the TiVo Premiere may look...

I have had a great experience with the TiVo HD. Its ease of use, especially when it comes to the basic DVR functions, is excellent. Entering qwerty data is the only drawback; for an additional fee a remote with a keyboard can be purchased. I rarely, if ever, watch live TV anymore because of how...

The TiVo HD XL gives you up to 150 hours of HD recording time. If you've owned a TiVo Series 2 before, it's the exact same software with a few tweaks for HD. This model uses cable card(s) to tune television programming rather than hooking up to a cable box. This provides 2 digital HD...

I was late to the Tivo game. I had been using a SA box from Cox (my local cable company) and was not unhappy with it. I was away for a year, and decided that now was the time to give Tivo a try. I have been pleased with the box for the last 18 months or so. Overall: 1) The guide and recording...

Tivo is the king of DVR interfaces (at least the classic UI is, the new Premier interface looks like it still needs some debugging). I've used AT&T Uverse, Dish Network and DirecTV DVR's and I still would go with the classic Tivo UI given the option. The biggest problem with this machine is...

Pros 1) Best user interface. 2) Reliable, no lock ups, no crashes, not mess. 3) great additional features like Netflix, amazon unbox, rhapsody, etc. 4) Perfect cabling options. Cons 1) Looses channel signal occasionally with Time Warner cable, using cable card. Not sure who's fault this...

The TiVo HD is a TV and movie watchers dream. The hardware looks and performs great...fits right into my current media set up, but what sets the TiVo HD apart from other DVRs is TiVo's software. It is much more intuitive than Comcast's DVR, even after the recent upgrades Comcast made....

I bought a refurbished one and had to get it replaced a couple months after having it. The one that I have now is great. The only issues I have had have been with TWC, not with TiVo. Great customer service, usually able to solve your problems. The functionality is much better then a standard dvr...

This is the only electronic component in our house that my wife says openly if anything ever happens to our TiVo it needs to be replaced immediately. During a move we had jarred our Tivos hard drive and it would not boot. So I assumed it since it was my fault it would be my responsibility to buy...
