Summary

Organic Light Emitting Diode + OLED
An organic light emitting diode (OLED) is any light emitting diode (LED) whose source of light is from a film or layer of organic compound(s). The layer usually contains a substance that allows suitable organic compounds to be deposited. They are deposited in rows and columns onto a flat carrier by a simple "printing" process. The resulting matrix of pixels can emit light of different colors. Displays made from OLEDs, in comparison to LCD displays, need no backlight, as OLEDs generate light themselves. Without a backlight, blacks are much deeper and less washed out. More Infos about OLED-Displays at: http://www.oled-display.net
