Still $400, only available direct, never established in-line book store w/ Borders, never launched the 3G version, website not updated in several months, etc. It looks like the best e-reader in terms of functionality, but it's overpriced and the lack of movement and inline bookstore worries me. If it was in the same price range as the Nook and the Kindle and appeared to be properly supported, I'd buy it immediately, but right now, who knows?

Feb 22nd preorder date, what happened?
Today was the day they were supposed to be taking preorders. No mention on their website, and the website is awfully thin on details of any kind, including content partners and supported file formats. I'm thinking Alex might be dead in the water because no publisher will want their content on something this hackable. Killer Ebook reader
Now if rumors are true or at least partially true this is supposedly close to what the Barnes and Noble ebook reader will look like if it isn't the actual reader, but whats more important is the design. I for one love the dual screens even if it makes it a little bit longer but the key one the bottom screen is that it apparently runs android with the larger screen being eInk. Now this may just be the device that makes me actually get an ereader just for the added functionality that Android...
