get price alertsWith the Xperia ZL, Sony turns out yet another solid Android phone with a lot of great features that all fall short in one way or another. The phone is definitely aimed at phablet fans, with a 5-inch screen that PC Mag calls a "thing of beauty" and SlashGear calls "one of the best on the market." Unfortunately, phoneArena says "the display's viewing angles are far from impressive," and IGN says that at an angle, "colors become dull and drab and black tones look washed out." Accordingly, the big, bright screen takes its toll on battery life, with IGN finding "the ZL running almost on empty in less than 5 hours," and CNET calling it "less than satisfying." The Xperia ZL does deliver some delights in other places, with a camera that Ars Technica calls "surprisingly good and useful," and Engadget noting it "produces mostly accurate colors and focuses quickly on the right subject." … show more
