The Sony SmartWatch is the best "geek watch" so far, but it still doesn't quite break through to the mainstream.

Sony's SmartWatch — essentially a Bluetooth remote for your smartphone — shows the potential value of an always-connected device you can wear on your wrist. Unfortunately, at this point, potential is about all there is to the SmartWatch. Largely useful for short notifications of incoming calls, text messages, emails, tweets, and the like, it's not particularly handy for replying to these messages; you'll still need your phone for that. Additionally, its display is difficult to read in bright sunlight, and it only works with Android phones. Updated apps may add new functionality to the SmartWatch, but for now, it provides a very small window into the vast universe of your smartphone.

The Sony SmartWatch enters the realm of usability thanks to recent software updates, but it's still more smartphone accessory than solid standalone timepiece.
Read the full review →The Sony SmartWatch shows promise, but needs plenty of work ... and unlike other smart watches, pretty much becomes useless when not paired with a phone. But for those who have trouble digging that Galaxy Note out of their pockets, the SmartWatch could be just the ticket.
Read the full review →The point of this kind of watch is to pair with a smartphone and provide quick and easy alerts, but the Sony SmartWatch wasn’t especially easy to use. If you’re an Android smartphone user and are in the market for this kind of compatible device, I’d hold out for a smarter smart watch.

Read the full review →There's no way to justify spending $150 on this—this ripoff of a thing. It's easily gulped down at first under the guise of luxe gadgetry, but spending any more than a few minutes swiping with despair reveals just how much of a bad practical joke this thing is.
Read the full review →It’s an expensive sell for something that, for the most part, remains a gimmick. We’re not convinced with the usability of the SmartWatch’s display when outdoors, either ... Nonetheless, there’s a long way to go before accessories like the Sony SmartWatch break into the mainstream.
Read the full review →The Smartwatch is pretty good as a gadget-lover's phone companion. The big problem with it is that it needs a phone to function, along with all those apps that you need to install before it will work.
Read the full review →The Sony SmartWatch is a relatively cheap toy to mess around with – though odds are if you want an Android compatible smart watch right now, you’ll be more than up to the task of fiddling with WIMM One which, for only $50 more, brings a lot more to the table than Sony’s offering.

Read the full review →today the smartwatch is cheap so for that price you can buy it. But it's not the perfect watch. When using indoor, it does the job well.
Read the full review →A lot has been said about this watch, most of it quite disparaging. I however, do not agree with most of the opinions out there, please allow me to explain. This accessory, if it can be called that, designs as it is advertised to do. It is not meant as a replacement to your current phone...

Read the full review →The features of this device are great. But the reliability and battery life made it a real hassle to use. It would loose connection to my phone (LG Optimus V... yes I know not the greatest phone and not on the slim compatibility list, but bluetooth is bluetooth dang it!) about a dozen times a...
