So according to Sony, you can now send it your PRS-500 for free to them and they will upgrade the firmware. From the sounds of it, it seems like your PRS-500 essentially becomes a 505, with ePub and PDF Re-flow support. Cool, right?
If you download Calibre, you can use it to download your favorite news feeds. Granted, the transfer isn't automated, and your PRS-500 can't pull down data without your computer, but it's one step closer. Just be careful: larger feeds (like the BBC) can sometimes cause the Reader to crash.
