After going to the beach to read with my PRS-300, I noticed the screen would wash out in direct sunlight upon page refresh. If i shadowed the device during refresh, the issue wasn't present and the ink would remain of proper contrast. Here are two links to two threads, pertaining to similar scenarios with Sony Readers: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=... http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=... Wondering who else has had this problem. I contacted Sony and...

Newspapers
Does anyone have any idea when additional newspapers will be available in the Reader Store; specifically the New York Times? The Wall Street Journal, while very good, is really expensive at $15 a month, and the other three are to regionallized or buisness oriented for me.

Not impressed by the cover with light
Got this about a week ago, and I love the reader. They didn't have the cover w/light at the time, but I bought it yesterday, and I am not at all as impressed with that as I am with the reader. First of all, the light reflects on the screen. PRS-300 was the lowest price reader. . .K2 (refurb) now $189 at amazon
If you have been waiting for Amazon's response to the pocket reader here it is. You can pick up a Kindle 1 refurbished for $149 and a Kindle 2 refurbished for $189. If your ebook reader purchase decision wasn't hard enough.

Replacing the 505?
Do you guys think this will replace the PRS-505, and Sony will discontinue it? If not, is a price drop for the 505 in order? Let's keep in mind that the 505 and the Kindle are now the same price. That's something of a no-brainer (assuming you're ok with the recent DRM-type issues). But, if the 505 drops to $250, for instance, I'd probably just buy a 505 instead of this 300. There is little difference between the two - and the 505 includes expandable memory and audio playback....

Wireless data?
I have heard rumbling rumors of Verizon perhaps providing service for this device. Seems like if this e-book reader gets wireless downloading of content, it could really be great. The price point is getting much closer to where I would like it to be, and with touch screen, and lower e-book prices, a wireless connection just may be the thing to put it over the edge for me to buy. Anyone hearing other rumors of this thing getting wireless connectivity?
