The Sony PSX was a DVR equipped with PS2 functionality. It is also notable for the being the device which introduced the XMB (Cross Media Bar) interface to the world, and the only PlayStation home console to ship without a controller. This is the same interface which is now used on the PSP, PS3 and many models of Bravia TV. The device was introduced in Japan, but weak demand insured it would never be sold in other parts of the world.
