Playstation Eye Will not be included in the box. It will be a separate accessory costing $59.99 in the US. I wish it was included so that it would be easier for developers to implement features. Previous Move Controllers and Navigation units are compatible with the new Eye. Headset/Mic Will be bundled in for communication. Mono earbud, with inline mic. Any 1/8" headset should work though. Dualshock 4 Extra controllers will be $59.99. (Damn the redesign looks great) Charging Station Sony announced a...

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/01/feb20ps4620x340pxhedimg_620x340.jpg With the Game Developer's Conference coming up next month, Sony's got a big event tonight, and the odds are good that what they'll be announcing is the next PlayStation home console, be it the "PlayStation 4" or the "Orbis" or whatever. The details/rumor have been flying fast over the past year, and with Sony being notoriously tight-lipped about the system (even denying they were planning the next generation...

With the release of Windows 8 and its ecosystem of hardware near at hand, I have been thinking about the ancient (in technology years) myth of the all-purpose device. This myth is one every geek knows and dreams of. The idea of having a single device that you carry around that can meet all of the technology needs you have is one that has captured the imagination since the days of the first "portable" computers. For geeks everywhere, though, it is ultimately a dream that leaves us depressed and...

With the recent explosion in the popularity of mobile gaming, pundits have been forecasting the end of dedicated gaming consoles like the PlayStation Vita and the Nintendo 3DS, saying that these are increasingly becoming niche devices and that most people will be doing their gaming on their phones, on tablets, or on the iPod touch, the latter being advertised as a gaming device by Apple. Then again, what does that say with the announcement of products like the Razer Project Fiona, a Windows 8...

So with back to school offers out, which do you like the most? As a reminder: Apple: Buy a mac get $100 App store card, but an iPad get $50 App store card ( http://store.apple.com/ca/browse/campaigns/back_to... ) Microsoft: "U.S., students who buy a qualifying Windows PC worth $699 ($599 Canada) or more at participating retailers can get a 4GB Xbox 360 console for free" ( http://windowsteamblog.com/windows/b/windowsexperi...

During tonight's Sony press conference, they announced that PlayStation Suite, which allows downloading of PlayStation games and other content to mobile devices, would be a) renamed to PlayStation Mobile and b) would be coming to HTC devices. Currently it's only available on Sony Mobile phones and the PlayStation Vita. This definitely is indicative of a shift from PlayStation as a hardware brand to more of a content brand, and it's similar to how Xbox Live is also available on Windows Phone, as...

While I am still irritated that the Flickr app does not work correctly (crashes everytime I try to view one of my pictures), the Skype app appears to work flawlessly. We all know the cameras on the Vita are not great but in good light, video calling on Skype is quite acceptable. Anybody else have any first impressions?
Anyone going to download the free Motorstorm RC? http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/05/motorstorm-rc-fr... I have never played the game but it is tought to pass up a freebie.
I didn't end up activating my 3G service until Sunday. When I re-read the fine print, it said that it can "take up to 30 days" before you receive your voucher/code for your free game. I don't think we'll have to wait 30 days, but I suspect there's a lot of processing that has to go on. Anyone get their free copy of Super Stardust Delta (plus the DLC) yet?
For me, it has been Tales from Space, When Mutant Blobs Attack. The game play and graphics have been incredibly entertaining. The best part? It's only $7.99 from PSN.
I got my 3G Vita today and I wanted to activate the free month of 3G. Well, in order to do that I need to open a new AT&T DataConnect account. For that to happen, I have to pick a specific plan to start off with, aka I need to pay for a month.
So, in order to get your free month of 3G from AT&T you have to pay for a month first. Also, in order to get your "free" game you have to wait until after the free month of 3G ends.
I took my son to Target yesterday and he got a chance to try out the Vita. In addition to the demo unit they had the following games available: Marvel vs. Capcom Little Deviants Uncharted: Golden Abyss FIFA Soccer ModNation Racers Wipeout 2048 Lumines Hot Shots Golf plus two others housed with the PSP games (Dungeon Hunter plus one other) Unfortunately, the buy two get one free sale does not start until Tuesday. After finally getting his hands on the device, my son was really disappointed that...

This is another game I had no interest in. However, after reading the following: http://playstationlifestyle.net/2012/02/17/ps-vita... I may have changed my mind.
ifixit scores the Vita 8/10 for repairibility: http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/PlayStation-Vita-Te... In this day an age where it seems every new gadget is hermetically sealed, I applaud the work of Sony's engineers. But does it really matter?
Pretty cool. Sony has significantly improved their marketing since the early PS3 days. I like the Euro ad better. What do you think? http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/02...
I looked at the US launch games listed here: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57347405-1/sony-releases-impressive-list-of-vita-u.s-launch-titles/ I see a few games that I think would be neat - like Super StarDust Delta and Lumines Electronic Symphony, but I already have their PSP equivalents. Super StarDust could definitely benefit from a second joystick though. If I got a Vita, it looks like I'd end up playing the PSN games that I already have. On top of that, I have heard that the PlayStation...

While it won't be released in the U.S. until February, many are already questioning how successful a dedicated portable gaming device will be in the face of growing popularity of gaming on smartphones and tablets. Do you think the game quality on the Vita will be worth the cost when it's become clear that many people are content to play games on their iOS or Android device?
Do you plan on buying a Vita?
If you have an iOS or Android device and play games on it and also intend to buy a Vita, will...
Why does the WiFi only model cost 320$ and 1 games costs around 70$ here in Europe? Why is it like that? Will it ever change in your opinion? And can I buy it from America (and also with games) and play it here in Europe?
