The Sony PSP is a great handheld gaming console, one that could prove to be as revolutionary as the original Nintendo Gameboy was, not only because it's basically a handheld PlayStation 2 with powerful graphics, but because of all the other value-added features it comes with.

There’s just something about this device that makes me want to pick it up every time I walk by it. Yeah it’s pretty, but the games are fun. More fun than any handheld gaming device I’ve owned so far. quote

The PSP is an elegant portable device that excels at playing games and is a good music player, video player, and photo viewer. Regrettably, Sony continues to rely on propriety removable media formats to deliver the content.
Read the full review →Incredible screen, great sound, and top-notch games make this smudge-prone unit hard to resist.
Read the full review →As it stands, the PSP is a great system and a major leap forward for portable gaming. But it offers more complexity at a higher price. Is that what portable gamers want?
Read the full review →The Sony PSP elevates portable gaming to the next level, but its multimedia functionality falls short of its full potential.

More fun than any handheld gaming device I’ve owned so far. But there are some big gotchas that go along with my praise. One gotcha is battery life.
Read the full review →I bought my PSP-1000 from my brother in interest of homebrewing it. I found a really straightforward tutorial on loading the M33 custom firmware, and now I can play NES, SNES, gameboy color, gameboy advance, sega genesis, and PSP ISOs all on there. I'm not necessarily advocating using the...
Read the full review →Great display and some great games got the PSP off to a great start. Late to the game internet purchases and cheaper games could give it a shot. Sony blew its chance with its little techno wonder when Sony forgot basics like who wants a 250 dollar micro console and another 50$ games. Long load...
Read the full review →The Playstation Network Store. That is possibly the best (and most underutilized) feature of the PSP. The ability to seamlessly transfer video content with no conversion to your portable from your PS3 is pretty much awesome. As far as games, the PSP has had its share of gems...just not enough of...
Read the full review →The PSP was a pretty neat piece of tech. However, after a few months of little fun and way too much money to buy games and movies I decided that it was better to just use my Xbox. The games weren't that great and the price for a UMD movie was ridiculous especially considering I could only...
Read the full review →I think I used my PSP religiously for about 3 months, and on two cross country plane rides right after I got it, but after that, it's fallen into disregard, disuse, and disrepair. Even patched with homebrew firmware, the thing still fails to really engage me. There just aren't enough...
Read the full review →When the PSP was first announced in E3 2004, I remember dismissing it as another handheld that'll fail miserably. Whether you count it as a failure or not, it's hard to dismiss the PSP since it lasted all the way to 2012 with minimal changes. To me, the PSP was a treasure trove of RPGs and...
Read the full review →I like this device because the game library is more suited to my favorite genre over a DS etc however with the iPhone 4 & iPad 2 you can find this in my house in a drawer. It isn't very durable, 2 Hour max battery and does not fit in your pocket.
Read the full review →I tend to download games from the Playstation store, but wanted to try out a movie rental. I downloaded Surrogates with Bruce Willis for 4 bucks to watch in bed while my wife watches the biggest loser. The download took around an hour or so, which is no big deal, but the problem I had was there...
Read the full review →Good library of games thats slowed down quicker than you'd like. Not genuinely portable as the PSP is large, battery life is inconsistent, and the screen is unreadable in the sun. Recommended on the strength of some truly stand-out games.
