Detailed review
First of all, the Playstation is a fantastic game system, with a great library of games, of which my favorites are first party exclusives such as Uncharted, Eden & Flower. But it is also a very capable Blu-ray player, with deep, rich multimedia capabilities.
Despite being a gamer, my system gets more frequent use either playing Blu-rays, or playing videos streaming from my computer using TVersity (both locally stored and Internet videos, such as Co-Op and Tekzilla (featuring the wonderful Ms. Belmont).
Unfortunately the price-point cripples Sony's ability to reach a wider market, and Sony's stubborn business practices make them slow to address change.
Thanks to the Playstation, I only need one device connected to my TV (as opposed to a Blu-ray player and a desktop computer). It is the center of my home entertainment experience, and I look forward to Sony's (eventual) modifications to the OS & XMB.
