Talk of the next generation of home consoles is starting to appear on nearly every video game website. It got me thinking about what the price will be per game. With every generation, the prices of games have increased by $10. Now I don't know about everyone out there, but $59.99 is my limit and the game has to amazing for me to even consider purchasing it at that price. I do most of my shopping on Amazon.com and I wait for their video game sales. Yet I can't say that I feel confident that games...
Today, Sony came over at the university I attend and showed off the PlayStation 3 3D Display. It's not going to be out until November but the Sony employees were confident that it'll be out before Black Friday considering that it's the biggest shopping day of the year. I thought the 24" 3D monitor was actually pretty nice! It is really slim and the 3D effect is pretty good. The glasses were comfortable, light, and looked pretty nicely as well. I wasn't able to try out the special 2 player mode...

It's one of the most anticipated games of the year. I've long been a Battlefield fan over the Call of Duty series, so I'm super excited. Are you? I plan to dive into it via PS3 this weekend. (Find me on PSN: "rockbandit007")
What system are you going to be playing on? Maybe we should create a gdgt platoon! (And if I ever seen "[gdgt]" in all caps, that's grounds for immediate court martial.)
Microsoft announced that the Xbox 360 has hit 55 million units sold, and that its sales are accelerating not only disproportionately to its competition, but to any console ever at this period in its lifecycle. The Xbox team released a super interesting normalized sales graph that tracks sales progress from launch through year nine of the last few console generations: http://static.flickr.com/5062/5793291459_447e283c3... The interesting trends I'm seeing here: the Wii, as we know, has flamed...

According to the latest from Joystiq: "Here's what's in the definitely jacked column: "name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID." Our takeaway: you'd better start changing passwords if you use the same one frequently. We'll leave the decision on whether or not to pack your bags and move away up to you. In the possibly jacked column: "profile data,...

2011 Edition), but after reading some reviews (I liked the CNET one) and lots of different opinions, I just got so confused. A lot of people says the Astro A40 are the best gaming headset ever created, and that they so superior than the Turtle Beach X41. Then there's the people that says you should get the Turtle Beach X41 cause they have 7.1 Surround, a way better bass, and are cheaper (and wireless, but that is no longer a problem). Is there really a noticeable diference between Surround...

Alright, this is something that has been a long time coming -- saving your games in the cloud! This is especially helpful, considering if the HDD in your PS3 decides to die, you're basically screwed (unless you've been meticulous about backing up your saves). Hey, it happens: http://gdgt.com/discuss/anyone-pulled-hd-out-ps3-r... Anyway, it looks like they are only rolling out this feature to PSN Plus subscribers. On one hand, I can understand it -- they need to recoup...

Look like Sony is escalating its war against all things related to George "GeoHot" Hotz, who published Sony's encryption key for the PlayStation 3. Last week, they won a decision to acquire the IP addresses of anyone who visited GeoHot's website or viewed his YouTube videos between January 2009 and March 4th, 2011. The purpose of collecting IP addresses is to determine where many of the downloads originated and whether or not they can try the case in a California court, as...

1. The XMB. It is a much cleaner and easier way to navigate. Now, once you get into the Playstation Store it is a mess just like Xbox Live. But, the XMB is where you will spend most of your time. 2. Using an old laptop as a "media server" and streaming video to the PS3 using PS3 Media Server. So far this has worked very well with my Mac and PC. And has stifled my thoughts of getting a Boxee or Apple TV. 3. Being able to control the PS3 using my TV remote. Now, this is probably only...

Although I have no problem with the game controller, certain members of my family are having a hard time adapting to a game controller as a DVD remote.
