Where can I rent Rock Band instruments for PS3?
details
My cousin was asking if I knew a place that rented out the instruments for Rock Band. Renting/borrowing the game itself is easy enough, but are there any places that will rent you the guitars and drums for an evening?

(I feel like this is something that video rental stores would/could have done, if so many of them hadn't been driven out of business by Netflix and Gamefly. Guess there is still a purpose to in-store rental...)

Details about the next Playstation are leaking out and they're not looking good.
details
Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/5896996/the-next-playstation-is... wrote a post yesterday detailing information they received about the next console from Sony codenamed Orbis. This looks like it's going to be the successor to the PlayStation 3 and it very well may keep the Orbis name.
The plus side of what has come from this is that it looks like spec wise the Orbis... Read more →

mlb.tv 2012 :: Which connected device is best?
details
The MLB TV service is available for many connected devices this year (http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/subscriptions/index.jsp?co... including Xbox [new], PS3, Roku and AppleTV.

I was wondering if one device was better than others in terms of featureset and performance for the 2012 version of the MLB app when connected to a 1080p HD TV.

Price of the Next Generation of Video Games
details
Talk of the next generation of home consoles is starting to appear on nearly every video game website. It got me thinking about what the price will be per game. With every generation, the prices of games have increased by $10.
Now I don't know about everyone out there, but $59.99 is my limit and the game has to amazing for me to even consider purchasing it at that price. I do most of my shopping on Amazon.com and I wait for their video game sales.
Yet I can't say that I feel confident that games...

PlayStation 3 3D Display Impressions
details
Today, Sony came over at the university I attend and showed off the PlayStation 3 3D Display. It's not going to be out until November but the Sony employees were confident that it'll be out before Black Friday considering that it's the biggest shopping day of the year.
I thought the 24" 3D monitor was actually pretty nice! It is really slim and the 3D effect is pretty good. The glasses were comfortable, light, and looked pretty nicely as well. I wasn't able to try out the special 2 player mode... Read more →

Alright, who will be playing the Battlefield 3 beta and on what system?
details
It's one of the most anticipated games of the year. I've long been a Battlefield fan over the Call of Duty series, so I'm super excited. Are you?
I plan to dive into it via PS3 this weekend. (Find me on PSN: "rockbandit007")

What system are you going to be playing on? Maybe we should create a gdgt platoon! (And if I ever seen "[gdgt]" in all caps, that's grounds for immediate court martial.)

Xbox 360 hits 55 million units
details
Microsoft announced that the Xbox 360 has hit 55 million units sold, and that its sales are accelerating not only disproportionately to its competition, but to any console ever at this period in its lifecycle. The Xbox team released a super interesting normalized sales graph that tracks sales progress from launch through year nine of the last few console generations: http://static.flickr.com/5062/5793291459_447e283c3... The interesting trends I'm seeing here: the Wii, as we know, has flamed... Read more →

The Sony / PSN 'external intrusion' news keeps getting worse.
details
According to the latest from Joystiq: "Here's what's in the definitely jacked column: "name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID." Our takeaway: you'd better start changing passwords if you use the same one frequently. We'll leave the decision on whether or not to pack your bags and move away up to you. In the possibly jacked column: "profile data,... Read more →

Okay, so I was about to buy the Astro Gaming A40 Wireless System (a.k.a.
details
2011 Edition), but after reading some reviews (I liked the CNET one) and lots of different opinions, I just got so confused. A lot of people says the Astro A40 are the best gaming headset ever created, and that they so superior than the Turtle Beach X41. Then there's the people that says you should get the Turtle Beach X41 cause they have 7.1 Surround, a way better bass, and are cheaper (and wireless, but that is no longer a problem). Is there really a noticeable diference between Surround... Read more →

Sony now allowing saving to the cloud for PSN Plus subscribers.
details
Alright, this is something that has been a long time coming -- saving your games in the cloud! This is especially helpful, considering if the HDD in your PS3 decides to die, you're basically screwed (unless you've been meticulous about backing up your saves). Hey, it happens: http://gdgt.com/discuss/anyone-pulled-hd-out-ps3-r... Anyway, it looks like they are only rolling out this feature to PSN Plus subscribers. On one hand, I can understand it -- they need to recoup... Read more →

Sony just lost a customer and a fan.
details
Look like Sony is escalating its war against all things related to George "GeoHot" Hotz, who published Sony's encryption key for the PlayStation 3. Last week, they won a decision to acquire the IP addresses of anyone who visited GeoHot's website or viewed his YouTube videos between January 2009 and March 4th, 2011. The purpose of collecting IP addresses is to determine where many of the downloads originated and whether or not they can try the case in a California court, as... Read more →

i never use it and it's no guessing why. the ps3's web browser is the worst browser i've ever used.
details
(sometimes i get lazy and don't feel like going to my computer, hence the ONLY reason i attempt to use this p.o.s.) i feel as though there's some hidden option that i'm not selecting or something for the reason why it's so bad. a simple task like facebook, which mind you is on the home page of the internet when you log onto the browser is complete anus! i put my username and password in and i get the logo, icons at the top of the page and A WHITE SCREEN. i thought it could...
