As it is, some will find that the Sony Bloggie Touch doesn’t provide a satisfactory result, but depending on your requirements, it is worth looking at if you want a compact device that is simple to use and offers excellent quality video capture.

Our only churlish quibble is that if it looks like a phone and, to an extent handles like a phone camera, why not just stick with your existing phone which probably already has a decent stills and video capability? That said, the Bloggie Touch is, for us, currently the coolest pocket cam out there.

The autofocus lens may frustrate a bit indoors, and holding the camcorder horizontally may take some Flip fans some getting used to. But the video quality is excellent and the use of the full 3-inch touchscreen really makes it easy to capture your movies.

Short review: Great camera for well under $200, especially for video. Get the sleeve case accessory as well. 3 Physical buttons make this interface fool-proof. Everything else is done via touchscreen, which is very intuitive. No removable memory or batteries, which is a plus for this type...

Two nagging problems: placement of the microphone, which is easily covered with a finger, and slow auto-focus. Otherwise I find this to be an excellent product for quick, simple video recording, especially for the web.
