For a lot of people, the excellent high-sensitivity photo quality, competitive performance, and an ultracompact body will likely outweigh the Sony Alpha NEX-5's quirks and operational annoyances.

Despite its occasional blips, Sony-only accessory fitting and an irksomely slow start up time, the NEX-5 otherwise feels fresh, new and exciting. When more E-mount lenses see the light of day this certainly looks to be a true winner.

I love my Sony NEX-5, mostly because it's compact size allows me to bring it almost anywhere. Even so, the camera takes much better pictures than a standard point and shoot, and it's a nice in-between for those scared of getting into a DSLR.

I had high expectations after purchasing this camera, and it certainly delivered! It produced great looking snaps and is one of the more slender and less bulky of the "four thirds" variety (even though it uses an E-mount). The user interface was pretty solid for basic point and shoot happy...

I can't grade the durability section since I don't want to drop this thing to test it. I'd say 4 or 5 on that field, but dropping that camera and lens is no joke! I've seen heavily used ones in stores and it's holding very good so that's why I'd rate it 4 or 5.

This is a great camera is you don't want to carry a DSLR. has a lot of Fancy features such as 3d pano and HDR and hand held night shots. The Lens is quite good but big and can give purple fringing.

This is the best DSLR like camera for taking pics of the kids playing (something a point and shoot can't do) and it's much smaller than our 50D,5D MII.
