Even so, of the available Slingboxes, the SOLO is the box to get if you want to watch live cable HDTV or your DVR's recorded programs. Unless you need to switch among multiple sources, the Slingbox SOLO makes a lot of sense, given its low price and lack of monthly fees.

Although the set-up does require you to pay attention to make sure you've plugged everything in correctly and will leave even more wires dangling behind your TV stand, the results are worth the effort if you want to watch your TV elsewhere.
