It turned out that even on my APS-C sensor camera (Canon 400D) it was a bit too wide for headshots, but it still works brilliantly as a full/upper-body portrait lens and as a semi-wide-angle outdoor lens. Nice and bright, fast, and sharp.
Contrary to the price range listed here, expect to pay around $500 for this lens new and you will not be disappointed with the results. It is very sharp, extremely good in low light focusing and has dreamy bokeh. Build quality is solid and the lens is durable enough for a pro or serious amateur. The lens is very LARGE for a normal and has a huge front element. It should be paired with a larger FX body such as the D700 or D3 as it would overwhelm smaller DX bodies.
