Detailed review
Pros - Stepping up from a pair of Shure E3Cs, there was a substantial improvement in bass and audio fidelity.

Audio reproduction across all audio frequencies can be described as accurate, which means that Bass output is adequately powerful without being overwhelmingly "boomy" whilst highs remain clear and crisp.

Yes, acne-covered young'uns that typically have a huge subwoofer in place of actual bootspace in their car might give these a go and tell you that a pair of Bose or Sonys are better - but you know and I know that all they're interested in is the doof doof. We're not superficial like that, are we?

Coupled with the olive soft foam ear inserts that come in 3 sizes, the SE530s are great at insulating outside noise. Ticket inspectors on the train have had to tap me awake on every occasion when I've fallen asleep with a pair of these on.

They also come with a pair of triple-flanged ear inserts, but I'd stick with the olive soft foam inserts due to their superior noise insulation and greater comfort.

Having used these on a day to day basis for a year, I've had no issues with durability -They still look and sound as great as day one.

Cons - The buds themselves are quite big compared to other models so they do protrude out from the ear quite a bit.

The modular cabling system results in cable lengths that are either too short or far too long. In conjunction with the Shure iPhone adapter, they become absolutely unwieldy.

Even with the discounts that are available online, these are still very dear.

Bottom Line: If you have the money, these come really close to absolute audio nirvana.
