You get all the isolation and comfort of an over-the-ear design with only a fraction of the usual weight and bulk, and you get a clear, rich sound profile that will win over all but the most snobbish audiophiles. Serve that up with a generous helping of handsome, and you’ve got a winner.

Sennheiser's Momentum headphones may be expensive, but for the price, you get what Inner Fidelity calls "the best sealed headphone for general purpose uses," a set of headphones that are "very good looking, very good sounding, have excellent isolation, are easily driven from portable players, and are supremely comfortable." Wired agrees, calling the leather-clad cans "downright sexy," and saying they sound "phenomenally sweet" and that "sonically, they certainly deliver on the expectations set by the $350 price tag." PC Mag also likes the Momentums, calling them a "victory of design and audio performance," and citing their "excellent audio performance, with no distortion at top volumes." Want something negative, to help you avoid spending $350 on these? Inner Fidelity calls them "slightly small," which could be a problem if you've got "larger than average ears." So, try them on, and if they fit (and you can afford them), buy them.

A victory of design and audio performance, the Sennheiser Momentum stands out in an increasingly crowded field of luxury headphones.
Read the full review →The Sennheiser Momentum headphones may not have enough bass to satisfy every taste, but they are in every other way the best-sounding full-size audiophile headphones we've heard in a long time.
Read the full review →The Sennheiser Momentums combine style, strong construction and excellent sound quality. If you're after a pair of headphones for the commute and you value clear, accurate sound, then the Momentums would be a superb choice.
Read the full review →All-in-all, we like the Momentums a great deal ...they certainly aren't cheap, so it's a considered purchase. For this money, there's lots of choice, but these are more natural-sounding and well-rounded than a lot of the "fashion headphones" that are designed for a specific type of music, and push...

They're very good looking, very good sounding, have excellent isolation, are easily driven from portable players, and are supremely comfortable. This is an ideal headphone for home, office, and listening on...
Dipping their toes in the water of fashionable mobilewear, Sennheiser released the Momentum Black Edition to the public. While it certainly is slick, and it has a mostly good performance, there’s a really bizarre issue in the 3.5kHz range that will make higher notes sound very strange.

Read the full review →The Sennheiser Momentum are some of the best headphones money can buy if you need a set to take out on the streets. They’re comfortable, look a good deal swisher than Sennheiser’s other sets and offer sound comparable to that of its best portable cans.
Read the full review →The Momentum, however, both visually and sonically, is a standout in this group. It's a tad chunky for a pair intended for mobile use, and it's the priciest of the bunch, but it sounds sublime, and so it earns one of our Best Buy awards.

A lightweight marriage of stainless steel and buttery smooth sheepskin leather, the Momentum Black features a flexible 3.5mm audio jack -- with sexy red accents on the cups, cable and headband stitching -- simple inline audio controls and a built-in microphone for taking phone calls.
Read the full preview →What makes them so nice? Well, for starters they're very light. They're also very comfortable, with real leather memory-foam earpads. I only got a chance to wear them for about 5 minutes, but Sennheiser reps said they're designed to be worn for hours and I believe them.
