Anybody have the Seagate GoFlex Home?
Would you recommend it? I like the ability to stream your own personal cloud movies on your iPhone/iPad. How does this work? Well, I hope.

What's your ecosystem for uploading, editing, backing up and sharing your photos and videos?
It's the time of year for picture and video taking. I'd love to hear how others, especially parents and hobbyists, set up their systems for uploading, editing, sharing, viewing, and backing up their photos and videos? I'm a little all over the place. I did recently buy a WD drive that will share my media across several computers and, ostensibly, over the web. I'm on Flickr and just started using Picasa Web Albums. I'm more interested in sharing and viewing than backing up. Are Flickr and Picasa...

The data transmission from my Seagate NAS220 to my Mac (running OSX Lion) is slow. Any suggestions?
I have a large library of Mp3s that I want to copy back to my MacBook Pro long enough to have iTunes Music Match scan them into my account. I left it running all night copying from the NAS220 to the Mac, and it only moved 3GB of data. It seems like I should be able to move data much faster. I have the computer plugged into the same router as the NAS220 and so no WiFi is involved.

Thinking of getting this...
Thinking of getting the WD MyBook just so my wife and I can both easily access photos, videos, music and don't have to keep them on 2 separate PCs. Are there better options?
So I just finished building a website and I'm going to get payed roughly $1000 and I am not sure what to spend it on.
I really want an SSD to make my computer faster, but I refuse to settle for less than 320GB. I know that one of that size is at least $600, and I might even want more space. I know I could get a Seagate Momentus for a lot less money with 500GB, but if I do that I think I'd be compromising on speed? I have a 2.66GHz MacBook Pro 13". How much would either of those drives help my speed, and I mainly use iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb, Pixelmator, Acorn, The Sims 3, and I will be getting Dreamweaver...

I had the same problem and sent the drive into Seagate. They replaced it with a drive that did the same thing a couple of days out of the box.
This is not good behavior (loud clicking noises) but I do not have the time or space to go through their warranty process again.

I need a NAS solution for my apartment that works with my 13" Unibody Macbook Pro, my roommate's old Sony laptop running Vista, and my PS3.
It would also be nice if it streamed to my iPhone 4 as well. The main purpose would be to stream music and HD movies (MKV and converted MP4, 720p and 1080p). My PS3 is on a wired connection to my existing old Dlink router and our laptops connect wirelessly. My current process is to enable file sharing on my Macbook, then connect to that IP address through my PS3's web browser and transfer the files before I can watch them. Not only is it slow, but it takes up precious space on the...

As much fun as it was to spend a couple hours sorting through what I had backed up on each of my three 500GB hard drives, I know there's a better solution,…
especially since i would like to access our photos, videos, music, and movies on both my wife's desktop and my laptop and will likely be replacing the media PC that was connected to my plasma until it died recently. What's the easiest (set up and use) product out there that will give me the biggest bang for my buck. Thanks.

Anyone has got DLNA streaming to Itunes, Xbox 360 working ? I don't get it how it works for media streaming, but the NAS part is working fine.
I have enabled media access, shared media, uploaded pics, music and videos, but seems to be missing something.

Don't work on my brothers' Windows 7 computer
Hi there, I'm a Linux user and use this drive in two computers: my Dell Inspiron 1525 notebook running Ubuntu 9.10 and my Nintendo Wii videogame and it works perfectly fine on both of them. Today I tried to plug this on my brother's computer, a custom made running Windows 7. Instead of working as it should, it just beeps each 1s and doesn't appear on Windows. This happens on plugging either on frontal or rear USB ports, and the ports are USB 2.0 and working 'cause I tested with...

Annoying (and wrong sounding) clicking sounds
Anyone have this issue where this disk constantly (with some breaks) clicks? Clicks that hard disks shouldn't do I think. Can I ignore this, or is this a fault with the disk?

This page needs a name change
I ended up researching the wrong product because of the wrong name on this page. There are two seagate products like this - the FreeAgent Theater HD Media Player and the FreeAgent Theater+ Media Player.... The Theater+ is a network media streamer like the Popcorn Hour boxes, whereas the Theater HD only reads media off of usb hard drives and doesn't have HDMI and only upscales up to 1080i. This page is talking about the Theater+ and the name should reflect that.....

File Compatibility?
Have you noticed any pesky files/formats that won't play? The website claims to have a ton of compatibility but I was curious how accurate this is before I get one.........
