If you're an avid iOS user, you need some extra storage space anyway, and you'd rather house all of your media on a 500GB external drive than on the device itself, Seagate's latest concoction is a total must-have.

If all of those games, HD movies and high-res photos are starting to fill up your iPhone, iPad or Android device, you could start deleting files. Or you could pick up a Seagate GoFlex Satellite drive, and add 500GB of portable, WiFi-based storage to your phone or tablet. The lightweight, battery-powered GoFlex works by setting up its own network, which you can then access from your phone or tablet (or laptop). The GoFlex isn't perfect; it's bulkier than flash-based portable drives, it's more expensive than a typical external drive; and you can't use it to back up files directly from an iOS device. But with the most capacious iPad topping out at 64GB, the GoFlex is a good option if you have more media than your device can hold, and want access to it on the run.

Despite a few minor shortcomings, the GoFlex Satellite makes an excellent direct-attach external storage solution for anyone and a must-have for those who frequently travel with Apple's iPad.
Read the full review →Even with the largest-capacity tablet, you can quickly run out of storage, especially if you like downloading movies and TV shows. The $199 Seagate GoFlex Satellite gives your tablet or smartphone as much space as a laptop in a much more portable package.

Read the full review →All in all, I’m 100% impressed with the Seagate GoFlex Satellite. It does exactly what I need it to do — stream my photos and movies wirelessly and without any cables, all with a small, lightweight device that’s just as portable as my iPad.
Read the full review →The Seagate GoFlex Satellite fulfills a need that all iPad/iPhone power users need: more storage. Take all your photos, videos, and music with you without having to first load them on any device you have that can play media and surf the Web.

Read the full review →I've had the drive for about 2 days now and it is a bit pricy for what it does. Lets start of with some of the limitations. If you are using it for your iPad or iPhone it will only play the formats which are native to Apple. So forget about divx or mkv. I thought that since I had VLC player...
Read the full review →My GoFlex Satellite overall score is on the low side, and I can no longer recommend this device if you want to sync its content with iTunes. However, if less than perfect iTunes sync is acceptable, it may still appeal. It has enough capacity for me to carry my entire music library with me, and I...
Read the full review →As an early adopter of most high tech toys, this was a must have. Even with a 64GB iPad, transfer of movie files is a slow and time consuming process. Over 300 movie files were transferred in a few hours and only one minor glitch was encountered. Although the GoFlex could see all my movies via a...

And it has delivered admirably on this: I have my entertainment there with me, and it plays perfectly and with a decent range. Multiple...
