The Samsung WB850F is a compact superzoom camera with a wider-than-average lens, GPS, and Wi-Fi, but its a little slow to start and shoot, and image quality suffers at higher ISO settings.
Read the full review →Conclusion: We're mixed
Samsung's WB850F is loaded with features, including a 21x zoom lens, GPS, and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, its image quality isn't up to what you should expect from a camera that retails for over $300, especially under poor lighting conditions. It's also slow to start up, and can slow down between shots, despite having a 10-shot-per-second burst mode. While having Wi-Fi built into a point-and-shoot makes it much easier to share and upload images, and the WB850F's zoom lens is very good, there are better options available for less, including Canon's $299 SX 260 HS, which has a 20x zoom lens. And if you want Wi-Fi, you can always pick up an EyeFi memory card, which will work with most point-and-shoots.

For snapshooters looking to enter the world of connected cameras, the 21x zoom Samsung WB850F is a good place to start.
Read the full review →The feature-loaded, 21X-zoom Samsung WB850F is the best Wi-Fi camera we've reviewed, but a few usability hangups keep it from a higher ranking.
Read the full review →The Samsung WB850F is still a decent travel zoom, with a fairly aggressive price tag. So long as you’re buying it for those reasons, then you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t expect perfect image quality, and disregard sales ploys like GPS and WiFi.
Read the full review →the pluses outweigh the negatives and so if you’re in the market for a pocketable compact with a long zoom and plenty of useful features them the WB850F certainly warrants a closer look.
Read the full review →The Samsung WB850F is a camera packed with plenty of good ideas...Unfortunately, picture quality is still no match for top competitor superzoom compacts.
Read the full review →It feels like Samsung has crammed just about every conceivable feature we’d ask of a current pocket compact into its 16 megapixel, 21x optical zoom WB850F, though occasional performance inconsistencies stop it getting full marks.
Read the full review →While the Samsung WB850F wouldn't be our camera of choice for shooting in low light, it turns out good quality images in normal lighting conditions. In some cases the images really leap out from the screen, but in others, reds can look a little over-cooked.
Read the full review →...it's rare to find a thin camera that has so many advanced features and components, so if you need these features...the WB850F will serve you well. It just isn't a camera that will appeal to a wide range of photographers; it's more of a specialty camera.
