  • Reception and call quality I work in a somewhat remote area. I have 2 phones; Samsung Omnia 7 and HTC Desire. Due to the lack of signal here, I notice the difference between the 2. so-so
  • Display Lovely Super AMOLED display. Very crisp and impressive. Just don't bring the phone too close so you don't see the annoying PenTile pattern. great!
  • Battery life Compared to most Android and WP7 devices, the battery's pretty decent. It can last up to 2 days of moderate usage. good
  • Camera No comments
  • Ease of use WP7 is very well designed and made with user experience in mind. great!
  • Design and form factor Possibly one of the most beautiful phones ever created thus far. great!
  • Portability (size / weight) It's rather large and really noticeable in your pockets due to the 4' display. But when you put the weight in mind, it's mind-blowing. good
  • Media support Terrible YouTube support. Terrible media syncing from non-Windows computers. Zune, for syncing media from Windows, is pretty bad. poor
  • Durability No comments so-so
  • Ecosystem (apps, accessories, etc.) WP7 is still an early-adopters-only OS. It still lacks many important features, stability and a large apps collection. poor
Detailed review
It's a good phone.
Very nice display and audio. It's quite loud, though reducing the volume does very little and has a huge jump between volume at 1 and mute.
Within a few months, though, the touch responsiveness is really wearing down. It starts getting laggy and sometimes almost completely non-responsive for a few minutes every now and then. Might be an OS-based issue or hardware. I'm not sure.
WP7 updates are going a lot slower on Samsung phones than others, so if you have to have the latest update ASAP, HTC is the way to go.
Hacking and development on the phone is going slower than on HTC phones, but is really picking up with some major breakthroughs.
