The Samsung Omnia 7 is a pretty decent phone indeed – it especially impresses when you pick it up for the first time. The screen is pin-sharp, and the operating system just blows your socks off the first time you use it – this is Windows Mobile in opposite land. quote

Well, we've done our gushing, and it's obvious that we're in love with Samsung's Omnia 7. Simply put, this phone's got all the right hardware to qualify as a brilliant multimedia device in today's standard, plus its form factor feels great in our hands.

There's not much to differentiate the first round of WP7 devices, and only one of them has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display. The camera is a dud and the touchy nav-keys are a nuisance, but this doesn't detract too much from this excellent handset.

A fantastic-looking Windows-based smartphone we’d be proud to pull out our jacket pocket, the Samsung Omnia 7 shows just how good photos and videos can appear. ... It's only the underwhelming camera that prevented us awarding the Samsung the crown in this category.

The Samsung Omnia is a great Windows Phones 7 handset overall. It might not have the best camera options, but the screen is absolutely to die for. ... We found that Windows Phone 7 ran slick and fast on the device, with barely a hiccup as you move around the extra-wide displays.

So, this is what you can expect from the Samsung I8700 Omnia 7 – it’s breaking new ground, much like the first iPhone, but lacks some features and flexibility. ... The Omnia 7 has very few flaws in the hardware department: a large, hi-res screen, fast hardware, capable camera and so on.

With a great screen, 1Ghz processor and decent camera the Samsung Omnia 7 is a good handset to showcase Windows Phone 7. Altoough it’s not perfect – it's a bit bland to look at and the camera isn’t as good as we expected, however the intuitive interface makes it very enjoyable to use.

The Samsung Omnia 7 is mostly a very nice handset. ... While Windows Phone 7 is a slick operating system that will feel like a nice upgrade for users used to normal phones, for those used to the full gamut of capabilities available on alternative smartphones, it will feel too limiting.

It's a good phone. Very nice display and audio. It's quite loud, though reducing the volume does very little and has a huge jump between volume at 1 and mute. Within a few months, though, the touch responsiveness is really wearing down. It starts getting laggy and sometimes almost...

One of the better WP7's I've used - certainly in terms of build quality - with a very solid build and a nice handy size. Still holding up well in my service, it has outlasted all the other 1st-gen WP7 handsets I've had, and apart from the reception issue (it got worse post-Mango, and it's been...

The past few days I've had the pleasure of using my first Windows Phone 7 powered handset, the Samsung Omnia 7 and it's been a good experience. Hardware: Hardware wise, I'm more than happy with the device. It's made of more premium feeling materials and the display seems to have a richer...
