Samsung's Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a little smaller, a little lighter and a little cheaper than the 10.1, but it's also a little bit better.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is better than its larger sibling, delivering the same Android tablet performance in a more compact package with a lower price. But it still suffers from the app deficit that plagues Android tablets.

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a nearly perfect size and weight and, thanks to a few user experience updates, it is an excellent vehicle for Android Honeycomb 3.2. In many cases the dreaded Android lag is gone and 8.9 screen size is, like the Baby Bear’s porridge, just right.

Unlike some Honeycomb tablets (or tablettes even), it doesn’t make a virtue out of being confusing...The Tab 8.9 is a great device that showcases the benefits of a smaller, more efficient screen but it needs to a touch more magic to deserve its price-tag.
