Conclusion: Pass on it

This is not a bad tablet, and if you really want a 10-inch Android tablet, you could do a lot worse. But for the same price, you can get an iPad 2, which has a wider selection of apps, a greater range of accessories, and a clearer upgrade path, making it a far better option for the vast majority of users.

The Wi-Fi–only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the thinnest Honeycomb tablet available, and it's very capable, but its Touchwiz UI means Android updates are in doubt.

Those trying to decide between the iPad 2 and a Honeycomb tablet would do well to give the Tab 10.1 a hard look. I have not run across anything I wanted to do on a tablet that I cannot do with the Tab, so it is a viable alternative to the iPad 2.

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is excellent. Honeycomb isn't quite as mature as I'd like, and there's a shortage of really good Android apps for tablets. But that's just a matter of time.

Decent tablet. Difficult to upload files to from the Mac. Samsung Kies doesn't work particularly well and only recognizes the Galaxy Tab occasionally.

I have been using my Galaxy Tab 10.1 for about 4 1/2 months and I am still every much in love with it. I have not had any issues with the functionality or durability. It has done everything that I want it to do and more.
