It's not materially better than the OG model -- in fact, it's worse in almost every way ... Assuming you were going to ignore that camera anyway, you can't exactly go wrong with the 10.1, but you could also do a lot better.

While we like the 7-inch version of the Galaxy Tab 2 — in part because it's priced competitively against other 7-inch tablets — the 10-inch version just doesn't stack up well against the competition. At $399, it's $20 more than the Asus Transformer Pad TF300, and the same price as the iPad 2, both of which are superior products. The Galaxy Tab does have a few useful features, such as the Peel universal remote app, but that's not enough to make up for the tablet's relatively lackluster performance, disappointing camera, and limited expansion options when compared to the TF300. If you want the Peel remote — and a good, value-priced tablet — go for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. If you're looking for a 10-inch tablet for under $400, the iPad 2 is still your best bet, followed by the Transformer Pad TF300.

Read the full review →I'd still recommend the iPad 2 over the Tab 2... and if you're leaning that way anyway it's worth spending $100 more to get the latest-generation iPad, with the gorgeous display and improved performance. Samsung's on the right track, but the price might still be a bit too high.
