Detailed review
My MAJOR frustration with this phone was the lack of Android updates. It was very frustrating to watch other phones come out with better software. Eventually I rooted the phone and installed CyanogenMod 7, and that made all the difference in the world. It was like a getting a new awesome phone!! However, most folks would never consider that and they shouldn't have to. If not for that frustration my overall experience with the Captivate would rate 5 out of 5, but I will downgrade it to 3.5 because this headache was unnecessary and unacceptable.
