- Reception and call quality call quality is very good, however have noticed the microphone is a bit lacking,, you can't be to far away, although it very rarely causes me any problems.
- Display The 4" inch display is a perfect size, and the Super Amoled screen give crisp clear and colorful images, no complains here,
- Battery life Battery life is comparable to most smart phones in it's range, and this is something that needs to improve across the board, although it did improve with 2.2
- Camera No comments
- Ease of use touch screen is very responsive, touch wiz adds features in 2.2, getting notifications options back was nice, 1 complaint is keyboard design, it's just so/so
- Design and form factor for a phone with a 4" screen and a physical keyboard, the form factor seems small, and compact, also comfortable in hand
- Portability (size / weight) size is good, and weight is not an issue
- Media support most everything is supported, as with most android phones, and what wasn't got fixed in the 2.2 update, Netflix streaming would be nice though.
- Durability Phone is very Durable, have dropped the phone many many times, also dropped in a cup of soda, and still never had a problem
- Ecosystem (apps, accessories, etc.) Of course you have a wide range of apps with Android, as well as sprint now supporting Wifi hotspot, and accessories are abundant for the epic.
Detailed review
I haven't had really any problems with the phone, and I've been using it 6 months now, at first with 2.1 installed I had some battery issues, I would only get bout 8 hours, although that's somewhat to be expected with smartphones, I have noticed 2.2 had improved my battery life, quite a bit, same usage getting me 12 or more hours on one charge. I should say I use my phone quite a bit. Other than that only other real problem I see is that Samsung takes a year and a day to release the updates, I know they are currently in development to release 2.3 on the epic, but who knows when it will release, also I wish we had more media support, Evo already has netflix streaming, but not the epic. sad really.
good review!
