- Speed and features Initial reason for getting a Chromebook, was that I wanted something reliable to do Google Hangouts with....unfortunately this wasn't it.
- Design and form factor Its pretty sleek, though the bump along the hinge makes it just a touch too big to fit the 11-inch ultrabook case I got.
- Battery life It lasted all day during conference I was at recently.
- Display Seems kind of washed out at times.
- Durability Seems to be holding up to the abuse of air travel.
- Expandability Its pretty limited, but I guess its supposed to be that way.
- Noise No fans to make any noise.
- Portability (size / weight) Its my ideal size, of small but not too small. And, easy enough to carry around on its own.
Detailed review
I got the WiFi+3G model. I like that it has 802.11a support and the basic 3G has come in handy (like recently to purchase data for my MiFi). While its stability and performance in using it for Google Hangout, the primary reason I got it, has been disappointing. It has done quite well in general web and document activities. And, the 12 free gogoinflight passes gives me something to do on longer flights that I wouldn't otherwise do.
If it had better SSH (or Mosh), remote access...it could be quite a reasonable everyday portable computing device for me. Though there are a few things that it won't replace yet.
