We're not sure whether Samsung or AT&T is to blame, but we're sure of one thing: the LTE version of the ATIV Smart PC is a deeply troubled product. Even if you can excuse its unwieldy shape or cheap build quality, it's simply too buggy to really be useful as either a tablet or a laptop.

The ATIV Smart PC is a lightweight, 11.6-inch Windows 8 hybrid laptop with limited storage, a relatively low-resolution display, and somewhat sluggish performance. PC World says it "performs well" in tablet mode but its size "makes it less than optimal." And as a laptop, PCW says the ATIV is "well-suited for light-duty use," but "can get sluggish" under the weight of multiple desktop applications. Engadget concurs, calling the AT&T LTE version of the ATIV "a deeply troubled product." With the non-LTE version selling for as little as $599, the ATIV isn't an unreasonable option if you want a large-screen Windows 8 tablet -- and are prepared to live with its relatively modest capabilities.

The Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T walks the line between ultrabook-level laptop and tablet, but doesn’t truly excel at either.
Read the full review →The touch experience is excellent, but the overall size seems to be just a bit too large for comfortable use as a tablet. The ATIV performs well as a tablet, however, and the touchscreen is responsive and gorgeous. But the overall awkwardness because of the size makes it less than optimal.
Read the full review →Here with the ATIV Smart PC you’ve got Samsung taking a media-ready swing at Windows 8 with a tablet form-factor that’s perfectly legitimate for the average Windows 8 lover.

Read the full review →the Pro version is nice compared with the Atom version. the i5 CPU makes a huge difference, as does 4gb of ram. would be nice if it was upgradeable, but max is 4gb. concerned that the keyboard connectors may not last. already on the second one because the 1st one was loose causing windows to...

Read the full review →I have been an early tablet adopter; iPad 1, 2, the new iPad a.k.a iPad 3. And I am a major proponent of the "paperless office". I used my MacBook Air as my main computer and the iPad became my day-to-day companion as I dispensed with all paper-based communication methods. Only one problem...
Read the full review →1st this is not a desktop or even a laptop replacement. I would say it’s better than the old netbooks and better than a standard Android or iOS Tablets when trying to be productive in the work place. Now what I mean by this is that you can run the full office suite on this machine and since this...
Read the full review →Wonderful device. It does (or will be able to do) everything an iPad does, but it's a fully-functional PC. Windows 8 had a sharp learning curve, but I got it within a day. I can't believe that they stuffed an entire PC into this light, thin device. Yes, it has a fan, but you barely notice. The...
