Any body get a chance to play around with the new channels? Personally I'm hoping Pandora works well and allows the higher quality music stream - it would be great to have a constant (easy) connection to my home theater for Pandora rather than having to plug in the laptop or use the PS3.
i think it'd be smart for them to update it with a few more capabilities that other media streamers have (windows media extender for example). Although, i don't know how much that would take the price up.
One thing that I haven't heard definitively is how the picture quality is. I know the Netflix viewer on my computer leaves a little to be desired. How is it on Roku?
If they are going to add channels, is there any chance that Hulu or TV.com will be on there? It is the only thing holding me back from getting one, the lack of content. If it offered these, I would snap one up in a heartbeat.
My biggest issue with ROKU is with the Amazon VOD support. It only displays the last ~700 purchases from your Amazon VOD library instead of your entire library. That seems like a major bug to have not fixed yet! I know it's been reported several times. The upcoming 5.1 support for Amazon VOD is nice, but I wish they would fix this major bug first. Especially when it hits Amazon's VOD biggest consumers. Even though I have 1000+ Amazon VOD items, ROKU only shows the last 700...
I seem to remember an announcement a few months back saying Roku was going to add 10 more channels. Has anyone heard any updates on what they are and when we might see them? I would love to see Pandora, but I don't know if that would happen because Roku also makes the Soundbridge.
Why is the price for the Roku player showing up as $364.00 and up? I payed $99.99 for mine. I just checked and Roku.com is still selling the unit for $99.99.
I assume that it would, but does the Roku Player work with Netflix outside of the United States? I'm leaving the country for 2 years, and I wouldn't want to invest in it if it had any like regional restrictions.
