I can use it for scrolling but not as a button, yet there are other ways around it (like using the enter key or the space bar). I really like this phone, and I love that I can sync it with Google Calendar and Contacts using Google Sync when I'm on wi-fi. Every once in a while, I'll browse the web on it and it's somewhat usable on mobile version of certain sites. My biggest gripe is that it seems that some apps don't like to connect to the internet through wi-fi, which sucks...

So here is the deal: My fiance has had a blackberry curve for the past 2 years and is up for an upgrade. She is staying on Verizon but sick of Blackberry.
I suggested that she get either a Motorola Droid or HTC Incredible. She would love an Iphone (I have one), but who knows if it is actually coming to Verizon anytime soon? From my research the main differences between the Incredible and Droid are the keyboard and camera. I feel that having a physical keyboard would be better for her, but I don't really know anything about HTC products as far as reliability and everyday use. Obviously both of these phones run Android, so software is a push. I...

Was this the worst phone ever made?
I never had more problems with a phone in my life, I finally returned it to AT&T enough times and they gave me a Bold which isn't that much better. It seems like this was the norm for this phone amongst my friends as well.. what do you guys think?

Quick tip - Google Mobile & Opera Mini
Hey everyone, just a quick tip for you. I got this phone, and used Opera Mini to navigate to m.google.com; in order to install the google mobile app. Using opera, google was telling me that the 8310 did not qualify for the google mobile app. So I eventually found out to navigate to m.google.com using the Blackberry Browser (not opera); and it installs and works just fine. Just a heads up to anyone running into this problem :)

Help convert this iPhone fanboy
OK, I've forced to carry around an 8330 for work. I've mostly, to be honest, not liked it and have avoided using it for anything other than e-mail, calendar, and as an actual phone. I especially despised the browser and assumed that it's general lameness boded for the lameness of all other things blackberry related outside of its core e-mail function. Today I realized that I've been completely ignorant in this opinion. I downloaded the Opera Mini browser, and discovered my...

What's the best smartphone to replace the blackberry curve?
I am on Verizon and I will stay there... don't like AT&T's coverage and Sprint is just terrible customer service over and over. I have a Blackberry 8330 Curve which I use to talk, text, and use to synch with outlook for appointments, notes, etc... and of course email. I won't get a phone without a keyboard - I think that touch keyboards are 1980 technology and they stink. If the IPhone had a real keyboard I'd be tempted but it still would have to synch my data and push email...

Anyone with this phone experienced quick battery drain?
I've had this phone for about a year and recently it started draining the battery quickly. The first time I swapped out the battery because I had and extra and it seemed to fix the problem, but now-about 2 months later- it's draining the battery again. Anyone else have this problem?

reset on hard set down
Sometimes I set down my phone harder than I should. OK more of a short drop than a set down. I'm not talking about feet, but a few inches. When I do this the battery must come loose and the phone resets. Anyone else dealing with this? If so did you find a solution?

SMS default instead of E-mail
is there any way to set the default messaging as SMS. So, if I was to click on the date in the inbox, it would be over "compose sms" instead of "compose email" I don't use the email -- ever.

Will the BB Bold ever come to verizon
I am a loyal BlackBerry fan/user and fell in love with this device when I went to play with it at an AT&T store this past spring. Anybody have any thoughts if or when it is going to be coming over to Verizon? A Verizon BlackBerry with WiFi would be killer!

Still a solid smartphone
I know it has seen better days but this is still a solid phone. I had the 8330 (on Verizon of course) before I switched to Sprint for the Pre and I have to say it was one of the best purchases I made. Its one heck of a device.
Nice, but slow.
The Curve seems to struggle with some things. It does what it's supposed to do, but it's slow about doing it. The trackball is a bit laggy, as is the camera at times. I think most of it could be fixed by an O.S. update (currently running 4.5) But it doesn't seem forthcoming.
