Miraculously this DVR has survived many moves since 2002-ish and a hack to add a second larger hard drive. It sputters sometimes and needs a re-boot, but the channel service still works and has a fairly reliable 'automatic' commercial skip option. Apparently you can stream shows from other people's compatible Replay boxes over the net, but I've never actually tried that.
