These tiny speakers are more powerful than you’d think, but still not quite capable enough for anything but casual use around the house. Gamers at the very least will be disappointed, though they’re handy for the occasional TV show or spontaneous music-sharing moment.

As a speaker set to use solo while watching a movie on my iPad, the Ferox are ideal. As gaming speakers for portable gaming, they're quite nice. They're compact and cool. But they might also be audio overkill, if you don't need everyone around you listening.

The best way to describe it is a line graph where over time, the Ferox is a better solution. Speakers are always better than headphones, even if they don’t offer the same audio quality.
