With its sleek, black aluminum casing and unique customizable "Switchblade" panel, the Blade may be one of the most beautiful, let alone powerful, laptops ever made. You could do a whole lot worse than to roll up at a LAN party with one of these. But at $2,800 this blade cuts way too deep for all but the most obsessed PC gamers.

Ultimately, though, the Blade was never about specs, and despite its maker's penchant for calling it a "gaming" machine, it's really just a striking, fast and beautiful laptop. Despite its flaws, the Blade is greater than the sum of its parts.

Razer intends the Blade for consumers that don’t mind paying a premium price to get a very unique product, or gamers more focused on the overall experience of mobile gaming than raw computing power and the highest framerates. It’s definitely a different notion.

While Razer isn't trying to sell performance here in the way that say, the cats at Origin are with their gaming PCs, it's still hard to not want something slightly more out of machine that costs nearly three thousand dollars and isn't really upgradeable.
