That'd be interesting, something like a social networking portal that you could use on WP7 rather than dedicated hardware and software. I'm sure not many hardcore phone nerds will want a KIN device but they could certainly use some of the software from it.

I would like to see the Kin UI in WP7. I think it looks a lot prettier than the WP7 UI, but still similar.

Having played with both I'd say I prefer the design of WP7, but I can certainly see the appeal of KIN for someone who REALLY likes Facebook.

...or doesn't need a full on smartphone? I sure don't, just a web browser, social networking apps, and email. KIN looks perfect for me.

I would have to agree with you. KIN is a very tight, focused device - Microsoft has made it clear that it is not a phone for everyone.

I have come to see the appeal of a device like KIN for someone who doesn't really want or need a full on smartphone. And while I might not fit in that category - I know quite a few people that do. People that aren't all that interested in an iPhone or Android device.

I wouldn't want the KIN UI to replace WP7's UI - I quite like the simple and functional aesthetic that it has currently - but integrating KIN into the platform, in a similar way as Xbox and Zune are would certainly be welcome.

You're right. And that's the interesting thing about Microsoft's strategy - they have given customers the ability to choose the best kind experience that they want from a phone.

Yeah I agree with Peter. I am a much bigger fan of WP7 but it seems like KIN might work for the younger crowd. It is interesting for sure, but I think it would just slow me down more than anything.
