Worth the upgrade from Droid X?

I'm currently debating jumping on the 4G ship along with other people before Verizon moves to the tiered data plans. Considering the supposed updates like gingerbread and improved radio coming out later this summer to improve the Thunderbolt, would this be a considerable upgrade?

I've read reviews of the Samsung Charge and the LG Revolution, and there are a lot negative comments (about the T-bolt as well to be fair). So what do you guys think?

I upgraded from the Droid X. I purchased the DX on the day of release so when the Thunderbolt came around I figured I had had my DX long enough, time to move on I thought. I do Regret the upgrade to the thunderbolt. This is actually the first upgrade I have felt like I went backwards. So much so I created an account to tell you so.

I miss the thinness of the Droid X, the ease to root, the form factor, most everything :)

If your contract is up then yeah, go for it, an incremental upgrade. But if you live on your smartphone 24/7, live in a 4G area and use a sh!@ ton of data, only then might it be worth it. But then I'd say get out doors and socialize. :)

It depends on what you would use the thunderbolt for. I have upgraded from the droid incredible because of 4g lte, a bigger screen and better call quality. if you want 4g lte, better call quality and htc sense if i where you i would wait till the droid bionic because of the dual core processor that would be a full upgrade. but if you are commited to the thunderbolt remember it would be thicker and the battery would not be good at all.

Well thanks guys! I guess I should have update way sooner, I bought it, then eventually returned the Thunderbolt for the Droid 3. I still have the X lying around as a backup. I appreciate the input!

The Thunderbolt is a wonderful phone, but, like most Android phones, battery sucks, and LTE/4G, is a HUGE battery drainer!!! Consider this before upgrading.

I'd honestly, wait till something better comes along.
